JVN explained that he learned of his condition after having a blood test after he passed out while working at a beauty salon, adding: "That day was just as devastating as you would think it would be.”

‘Make Me A Star’ actress contracted gonorrhea during the 1930s. In 1933, while performing in the play ‘Jezebel’, she had to go to hospital to undergo an emergency hysterectomy, which was a side effect of the STI. Bankhead eventually claimed that she had contracted the disease either from Gary Cooper or George Raft. After leaving the hospital and weighing only 70 pounds, she continued working.

According to a New York Times article published in 1976 authors Joan and Clay Blair Jr. got access to medical records of the late former President of the United States. These included details on some illnesses that he had during his childhood, as well as reports of a teenage venereal disease.

Mafia boss Al Capone - the co-founder of the Chicago Outfit -was sent to prison in 1932, at the age of 33. During his stay at Atlanta U.S. Penitentiary, he was diagnosed with syphilis and gonorrhea, eventually the syphilis reached his brain ultimately leading to his death in 1947 after he had been released from prison in 1939.

While there’s no concrete reports on venereal diseases contracted by the Playboy magazine founder, former playmate Jill Ann Spaulding revealed in her 2004 book ‘Upstairs’, that Hugh Hefner refused to use protection during his intimate encounters and didn’t offer STI tests for his female partners. Rap legend Eazy-E - one of the founding members of N.W.A., along with Dr. Dre and Ice Cube - revealed he had been diagnosed in 1995. Sadly, Eazy died just one month after receiving his diagnosis, aged just 31.

On NBC's 'Today' show in 2015, 'Two and a Half Men' actor Charlie Sheen revealed that he had been diagnosed with HIV four years earlier. He said: "It’s a hard three letters to absorb. It’s a turning point in one’s life.” He also explained that, fortunately, his disease had been under control due to the medication he was given.
