Sheep Tries to Blend in With Herd of Deer in Arkansas

A sheep was spotted trying to blend in with a herd of deer as it galloped alongside them in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on July 20.

Footage showing the moment was shared by Leslie Sherrill to Facebook on July 20. The video shows the sheep trying to keep up with the deer in west Fayetteville on North Rupple Road.

Speaking to 5News, Sherrill said that while the deer looked “so pretty”, the sheep was somewhat struggling to catch up as it “couldn’t run as fast”.

She mentioned that the lead doe helped to guide the sheep to make sure it stayed with the rest of the herd.

“They were waiting on it making sure it was a part of the herd and that’s when I realized it was special,” she told 5News.

Sherrill wondered how the sheep came to be with its new deer friends, and posted about it to Facebook, where she soon discovered the sheep was something of a local celebrity.

Sherill said that she plans to be on the lookout for the infamous sheep from now on in the area. Credit: Leslie Sherrill via Storyful
