Shepton Mallet couple donate Harry Patch legacy book to Wells Museum
Alan and Margaret Williams of Shepton Mallet have presented their Information book to Wells Museum.
The comprehensive book compiled by Alan has everything you need to know about First World War soldier Harry Patch.
The book will hopefully be used by visitors wishing to find out more information about The Last Tommy. Harry Patch, dubbed in his later years ‘The Last Fighting Tommy’, was an English supercentenarian, briefly the oldest man in Europe, and the last surviving trench combat soldier of the First World War from any country.
He died in July 2009 in Wells aged 111.
