Sheridan Smith confirms new romance with her ex after split with her fiancé

Gavin and Stacey and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps star Sheridan Smith has shared a post confirming her new relationship, shortly after splitting from her fiancé.

The actress was in a relationship with Jamie Horn, who shares has a son named Billy with, from 2018 until around two months ago. They pledged to remain friends and co-parent Billy following their breakup.

Now though, she's revealed via her Instagram that she has a new man in her life. Or rather, one from her past.

Sheridan shared a short filtered video clip of herself and actor Alex Lawlerover over the weekend, as well as a headshot of her boyfriend. She wrote: "So pleased this fitty I dated back in the day (20 years ago) is back in my life! Life works in mysterious ways. Miss u Mr L."

As an actor, Alex has been known for appearing in Lost in Austen and Dream Team. The reconnected pair had been rumoured to be an item for a few weeks before confirming things.

Queer as Folk and Coronation Street actor Craig Kelly commented: "He’s a top bloke. Lovely guy. x." Sheridan's Two Pints of Lager co-star Kathryn Drysdale wrote: "yes yes yes !! x."

When Sheridan announced her split from Jamie Horn, they issued a split that read: "It is with great sadness that we have decided to have some time apart.

"We both remain completely committed to raising our beautiful boy Billy together. We ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you."

Just yesterday (September 5), it was announced that the dog grooming competition TV show Sheridan hosted, Pooch Perfect, would not be returning for a second series. The star described it as a "dream job", but it had attracted controversy from the RSPCA.

Soon she'll be appearing alongside David Walliams in fairytale adaptation Hansel & Gretel: After Ever After.
