Shipment of Ukrainian Grain Departs Odesa Port

A ship carrying grain departed the southern Ukrainian port of Odesa on August 1, according to Ukrainian and Turkish officials, the first to do so since the beginning of the war.

Footage posted by Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Alexander Kubrakov shows the Sierra Leone-flagged cargo ship Razoni moving off from the harbor as it headed for Lebanon.

According to the United Nations, the ship was carrying more than 26,000 tons of corn.

It was the first shipment to depart Ukraine since an agreement with Russia was signed in Istanbul on July 22. Credit: Alexander Kubrakov via Storyful
