'Shock' as 'vital' Hull Post Office faces closure
A councillor has spoken of their dismay as a Hull Post Office is among those that have been earmarked for closure.
The Post Office has revealed a list of 115 branches that could soon close, leading to hundreds of potential job losses.
The list includes two branches in Hull and East Yorkshire - Bransholme Post Office, in North Point Shopping Centre, and Bridlington Post Office, in Quay Road.

The proposed closures are part of an effort to streamline Post Office operations.
The announcement regarding Bransholme Post Office has come as an unwelcome surprise for Councillor Tracey Neal, who represents the West Carr Ward, which includes North Point Shopping Centre. Reacting to the news, Cllr Neal said: "This closure will come as shocking news to residents in our community.
"The Post Office at North Point is vital for our community and to hear shock news of its closure with no consultation with local people is awful.
"My Liberal Democrat colleagues and I will be writing to the Post Office asking them to urgently rethink this decision."
Post Office chairman Nigel Railton said: "The Post Office has a 360-year history of public service, and today we want to secure that service for the future by learning from past mistakes and moving forward for the benefit of all postmasters.
"We can, and will, restore pride in working for a business with a legacy of service, rather than one of scandal."
