A resident in one of Nottinghamshire's most affluent areas has shared an example of a "very West Bridgford" incident and has warned those involved to come forward. The post was shared with the West Bridgford Local Community group on Facebook on Saturday (October 6) and details a resident's sadness after waking up to a broken window.

Upon making the discovery - after clearing up the mess and making the property safe - the Bridgford Road resident said they watched back the CCTV, only to find evidence of a bizarre food fight. The Facebook user said: "Sadly we had a window broken on Bridgford Road last night.

"Having cleared up and made the property safe, I have watched CCTV back to discover around six young males throwing tomatoes and avocados at each other (very West Bridgford). Footage won't be shared on social media but will be given to the police if they don't come forward and pay for the damage."

The post then went on to add a stark warning to those involved, pleading for them to come forward and pay for the damages, noting that they would be easy to identify as there would have been "tomato or green stains" on their clothing. It says: "So if your son or someone you know came home with either tomato or green stains on their clothing it's likely they were involved.

"They were filming each other too. If I have not heard by Monday the very clear footage goes to the police. Many thanks." Despite the seriousness of the vandalism, which will most likely result in an innocent individual out of pocket, people were quick to comment on the ironic nature of the incident, saying it would "only happen in West Bridgford".

One user said: "That's the most West Bridgford thing I've heard this year," with another adding: "Defo West Bridgford kids if they can afford to chuck avocados... what happened to crab apples?" Nottinghamshire Live has contacted Nottinghamshire Police for a comment.
