Shocking CCTV of robber dragging and kicking woman before stealing her handbag in Leicester

This is the shocking moment a robber attacks a woman on the street, dragging her on to a road before kicking her several times.

Police have released CCTV footage of the incident in Leicester in an effort to identify the attacker.

In the video, he runs up behind his female victim and drags her to the ground.

Despite her attempts to fight him off, he kicks her in the stomach before grabbing her handbag and running away.

The 42-year-old woman was walking along Seymour Street in Leicester at about 8.10pm on Wednesday, September 12, when she was attacked.

She was hauled across the ground by her attacker in his attempt to steal her handbag, which contained a purse that had cash and bank cards as well as two gold chains.

Detective Constable Michael White said: “The victim was subjected to a terrifying experience and while thankfully she was only left with minor injuries, she has been left extremely upset by the incident.

“We have been carrying out a number of enquiries and have managed to locate footage capturing the robbery.

“I’d like to ask the public to watch this footage and look closely at the man featured. Do you know who he may be?

“Were you perhaps in the area at the time and may well have seen him before or after? Or have you seen him in the area since?”

Police said the victim saw the man standing on nearby Conduit Street before the incident, so it is thought he may be local to the area.
