Shocking moment teen is stabbed in late night brawl on train near Strawberry Hill

This is the shocking moment a teenager is stabbed and injured in a late night brawl on a train in south west London.

Police today released CCTV footage showing a fight on a South Western Railways service travelling between Twickenham and Strawberry Hill on February 18.

Just before midnight a fight broke out and the film shows a a man stabbing a victim lying on the floor of the carriage.

Detectives say the 17-year-old victim was also sprayed with a noxious substance. The fight ended when the train arrived at Strawberry Hill station.

Paramedics and police rushed to the train and the victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for stab wounds but his injuries were not life threatening.

British Transport Police today issued images of a man wanted in connection with the attack.

Detective Sergeant Michael Blakeburn said: “This was an extremely violent fight and the victim in this case was lucky not to sustain any life threatening injuries.

“I am looking to hear from anyone who can help us identify the man responsible for this shocking violence. If you know who he is then please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“We will not tolerate violence of this kind on the railway network and we are working hard to investigate. Thankfully, incidents such as this are incredibly rare and we police a CCTV rich environment which provides us with invaluable evidence in prosecuting offenders.”
