A new shop is due to open in the former Boots store in Bedworth town centre. Global Educational Trust, which is also known as GET Free Books, has taken over what was the home of Boots in All Saints Square.

It will open its doors at 1pm today (November 21) and it is a novel addition to the town. The charity offers books for free. Anyone can go into the shop and choose up to three free books.

"They can taken per person per day and take them home to keep," the charity said. "We do have a donation pot but that is purely optional, it is bringing the books to the community that is most important to us. You can keep the books, you can re donate the books at a later date, the choice is completely yours."

The charity, which has stores in other areas of the country, will run the shop on Tuesdays and Fridays, between 10am and 2pm. To help ensure it can stay open, it needs volunteers.

It has launched a volunteer drive and is urging anyone who can help to get in touch. "If you think that you would like to volunteer at our new Bedworth shop please get in touch or ask us questions if you want to know more," the charity said.

People are being urged to email info@globaleducationaltrust.org and Bedworth Volunteer in the header.
