Shopper slapped and punched in face by man and woman in Tesco car park

An elderly shopper was slapped and punched in the face by a man and a woman in a Tesco car park. The victim, a man in his 70s, suffered a serious head injury and was treated in hospital following the altercation on Tuesday, November 5.

The victim was in the Tesco car park in Danes Lane, Keynsham, at around 1.25pm when he was slapped in the face by a woman, before being punched in the jaw by a man. The older man fell to the floor and suffered a head wound.

He was treated in hospital and has since been discharged home. The woman and man were travelling in a white hatchback car, Avon and Somerset Police said. Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information which could aid the investigation.

The woman is described as white, aged in her 30s, about 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, with shoulder length dark hair. She was wearing all black clothing with a black cotton jacket at the time of the incident.

The man is described as white, aged in his 30s, of slim build, about 5ft 7ins tall, with short hair and being clean shaven. He was wearing a green t-shirt. If you can help, call police on 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5224291783.
