Shoppers arrive at Greater Manchester Tesco store to find completely bare shelves
Shoppers arrived at a huge Tesco store in Greater Manchester to find completely bare shelves on Sunday (September 29). Parts of the frozen aisles at the superstore on Huddersfield Road, in Oldham, were left empty.
A sign greeted them at the entrance explaining that due to a 'major power outage' there was 'limited availability' on frozen and fresh produce.
Pictures taken from the store showed a number of completely empty freezers and fridges, with other shelves only stocked with a few items.

Tesco has said a power cut in the local area on Friday night meant staff had to take frozen and chilled foods off the shelves, but that the store will 'return to full availability' over the coming days.
A customer notice at the entrance read: "We apologise, but due to a major power outage we have limited availability of fresh and frozen products. Thank you for your understanding."
A Tesco Spokesperson said: “Our Oldham Huddersfield Road Extra store is open as normal following a power cut in the local area over Friday night.
"Unfortunately, we had to withdraw frozen and chilled food from sale after the power cut affected our fridges and freezers. We are working to return the store to full availability in the coming days and we apologise for the inconvenience.”
