Shoppers are being encouraged to not buy from street traders who are unauthorised to be selling goods on the street.

Officers say they have received numerous reports of street traders in Burnley town centre who are not authorised to be selling goods on the street.

Police say that this is a ‘breach of the Public Spaces Protection Order’ and have encouraged shoppers not to purchase the items.

A spokesperson for the police said: “We have received numerous reports of street traders in Burnley Town Centre who are not authorised to be selling goods on the street.
“This is a breach of the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) and we would encourage shoppers not to purchase any of these items.
“We are working with Burnley Council to enforce breaches of the the PSPO for this and other incidents.”
