Shoppers Flee as Auckland Mall Attack Leaves Six Injured

The suspect in a stabbing attack at a supermarket in Auckland, New Zealand, on September 3, was shot and killed by police after six people were wounded.

In a statement, police said the suspect died at the scene at the Countdown LynnMall in the New Lynn area of Auckland.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the “terrorist attack” was carried out by a “violent extremist” who was a “known threat”. He was under “constant monitoring,” she said, and was killed within 60 seconds of the attack.
