A few reality TV couples do manage to swim against the tide and stay together but, more often than not, we're sorry to say that most of our favourite small screen
show romances actually end up heading for Splitsville.
We're here to pay homage to those that didn't take very long in getting there.
9. Chantelle Houghton and Preston
You may remember that Celebrity Big Brother 6 kicked off with a pretty big twist: civilian Chantelle was tasked with convincing her famous housemates that she had been a member of fictional band Kandy Floss. Genius.
Her romance with actual pop star Preston, of The Ordinary Boys, had us all hooked. Less than a year after she was crowned the winner of her series, she announced her engagement to Preston and they married four months later.
Whilst it might sound like it had a happy ending, they announced their split after only ten months as husband and wife. In a later interview with Piers Morgan, Chantelle confessed that Preston had told her that it wasn't working just four weeks after their big day.
The exes came face-to-face again, back where it all began, during the Ultimate Big Brother series in 2010.
Endurance: ten months
8. Chloe Madeley and Sam Attwater
The Dancing On Ice contestants went public with their relationship whilst doing the live tour that followed the 2011 series, with Chloe reportedly ending her previous relationship to be with the former EastEnders star.
But, according to reports, they decided to call time on their romance just days after moving in together.
"It's very sad but it's amicable. We realised we were better off as friends and I'm glad we made that realisation early," she said in a statement at the time.
"I don't think Sam and I moved in together too quickly. If you feel it, you go with it, and that's what we did. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but I have no regrets."
Endurance: four months.
7. Stephen Bear and Vicky Pattison
It's hard to remember TV before Stephen Bear, and we can't quite decide whether that's a good or a bad thing. Not only has he brought his controversial antics onto a number of our favourite reality TV shows, but he's also dated a fair few of his co-stars.
Bear met the former Geordie Shore star during the 2015 series of Ex On The Beach (yep, that sure was a dramatic one) and they went on to date for around four months. We should point out that this is actually one of his longest relationships to date – and that tells you a lot – but it also had the biggest fallout.
"He's literally been the most vile, horrendous, snaky, conniving and manipulative person I have ever met," Vicky told New! not too long after their split.
"I'm truly shocked that I've allowed myself to get so taken in – but there you go," she added. "Love is blind, or in my case, blind, deaf, stupid."
Bear turned up in the Celebrity Big Brother house not long after, name-dropping her along the way. Taking to Twitter, she accused him of using their relationship to get on the show.
Of course, you may remember that he cheated on then-girlfriend Lillie Lexie Gregg (also a short-lived romance) to get with his CBB housemate Chloe Khan (an even shorter one). Phew, it's hard to keep up.
Endurance: four months.
6. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries
Kris (not to be confused with the Kardashian/Jenner branding mastermind Kris Jenner) and Kim famously tied the knot in front of the cameras during season six of the E! reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Aired in two parts, the self-titled 'fairytale wedding' was the biggest talking point of the series and special guest stars included Demi Lovato, Ciara, Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria and Avril Lavigne.
Endurance: 72 days.
5. Kirk Norcross and Cami Li
Starting his time on the box as part of the original cast of The Only Way Is Essex, Kirk went on to take part in Celebrity Big Brother in 2012.
The pair had a whirlwind romance, which included an engagement, but things soon turned sour when Cami broke things off two months after he'd got down on one knee due to his "controlling" ways.
She later admitted to "lying" to MTV producers about her relationship status in order to get onto EOTB.
"I didn't do Ex On The Beach to find someone. I did it to get revenge," she told Daily Star at the time.
"At the end of the day I wanted revenge on Kirk and I always get what I want."
The confrontation made for explosive television, so we're pretty sure they wouldn't have minded.
Endurance: two months.
4. Lee Ryan and Jasmine Waltz (or was it Casey Batchelor?)
We've never seen a reality TV love triangle like this one.
The Blue singer was part of the Celebrity Big Brother 13 line-up, and his on-screen antics with Jasmine and Casey contributed to record ratings and a series extension. We couldn't look away either.
Yo-yoing between his two housemates, Lee started something of a romance with Casey when he first entered the house, only to start getting closer to Jasmine a little while into the series. After Jasmine was evicted he – yup, you guessed it – crawled back to Casey. It (still) didn't end there though, as the US star later returned to the house during a task to confront the pair over their reunion.
In the end it seemed that Lee, er, picked Jasmine, but their relationship didn't last any longer than two months in the 'real' world.
Endurance: two months.
3. Nikki Grahame and Pete Bennett
Individually, these two definitely contributed to making series 6 of Big Brother one of the greatest that has have ever been. "Who is she?" became a meme long before memes were even a thing, and we're not ashamed to admit that we still look up old clips on YouTube when we're in need of a little cheering up.
So when these two larger-than-life characters got together, the whole nation was rooting for them.
Unfortunately, their time together came to an end not long after the gameshow concluded (naming Bennett the winner, of course).
The pair did have something of a reunion during an appearance on Loose Women in 2016, marking a decade since their first meeting. But for many watching at home, the spark seemed to have disappeared, with viewers branding the segment "cringe".
Endurance: a few weeks.
2. Joey Essex and Amy Willerton
Seasoned TOWIE fans had high hopes for a reunion between Joey Essex and Samantha Faiers, but these were soon dashed when he entered the I'm A Celebrity jungle.
The pair became close in the Australian camp and dated for a short while after, but Amy soon admitted that she didn't want to be the next Katie Price and Peter Andre. At one point, Joey denied that anything had happened between them, but he later claimed that they had a very NSFW encounter on the plane back from Oz.
Endurance: a week or two.
1. Jamie O'Hara and Bianca Gascoigne
These two were inseparable during the 2017 series of Celebrity Big Brother, with the former Spurs player even going as far as branding her 'The One.'
But the week after he exited the famous reality TV house, he took to Twitter to announce that he would not be pursuing the romance any further.
Endurance: Four days.
