Shower Beer finally solves the problem of what beer to drink in the shower

Have you dreamt of drinking an ice cold beer while standing in a scalding hot shower without ruining either?

Swedish microbrewery PangPang has the answer: a specially brewed beer called Shower Beer – and it comes with a secret superpower.

Sold in a small bottle so it retains its chill temperature (and lasts as long as a quick shower), it’s designed to be drunk in three quick gulps while you wash off the workday and get ready to go out.

It’s been formulated specially to taste a bit like, er, shower gel. Founder of the PangPang brewery and creator of the Shower Beer Frederik Tunedal explained that he lets the beer ferment for longer:

“This lets it develop a soapy flavour that in some beers is considered an off flavour, but is just on-point for the Shower Beer,” Tunedal told Mashable.

“The beer is heavily hopped with citrus, and has a citrussy, soapy, and somewhat herbal profile.”

We’ll take his word for it. If the taste doesn’t appeal, you can just dump the whole lot on your hair as it has also been designed to be a conditioner as well as a drink.

As wholly unnecessary as the whole thing sounds, the first batch of Shower Beer sold out in one minute and PangPang are currently fermenting the second, which will be on sale in the UK and US soon.
