Four teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man.

The four boys, one aged 14 and three aged 15, were among six people arrested as part of an investigation into the death of a man in Shropshire.

A 42-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man have also been taken into custody on suspicion of assisting offenders.

West Mercia Police were called to a footpath near Stonebridge Close, Telford, around 7.20pm on Friday, after reports that a man in his 20s was seriously injured.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance but died later that evening.

Chief Inspector Helen Kinrade said: "We understand this will be extremely concerning to the community.

"We would like to reassure the public the investigation is ongoing and this is believed to be an isolated incident".
