Sia confirms she has adopted two teenage boys

Sia has confirmed she is mother to two teenage sons after adopting last year.

The 44-year-old Australian singer - famous for performing with her face hidden - hinted earlier this year she had adopted a child.

Sia has now told US radio station SiriusXM Hits 1: "I actually adopted two sons last year.

"They were 18, they're both 19-years-old now. They were ageing out of the foster care system and yeah, I love them."

The Cheap Thrills singer - who lives in California in the US - is living in lockdown with her two sons and admitted they are not finding quarantine easy.

She said: “"They are finding it difficult, one more so than the other.

"But they are both doing things that are really good for them right now, they're doing educational stuff that is good for them."

Sia first let slip that she had adopted a child in an interview with GQ magazine about her music producer friend Diplo.

She said: “This year I wrote him a text, and I said, ‘Hey, listen, you're like one of five people that I'm sexually attracted to, and now that I've decided to be single for the rest of my life and I just adopted a son, I don't have time for a relationship.… If you're interested in some no-strings sex, then hit me up.’ ”

The Diamonds singer added: “Much of our relationship is just being spent trying not to have sex so that we wouldn't ruin our business relationship, because he's super-duper hot.”

In May 2019 Sia made a public plea to adopt a child on Twitter.

Following the broadcast of HBO documentary Foster, about children living in foster care in Los Angeles, the singer tweeted she would like to adopt 16-year-old Dasani. In the documentary he told how he witnessed his mother’s murder at the age of four at the hands of her partner and had since been “bouncing” between foster homes.

Sia tweeted: “Hey dasani from "FOSTER" on @HBO! I'd like to adopt you we're just trying to find you and get my house check done etc. but I want you to know you will have a home with me.”

She has since deleted the tweet.

Sia married documentary filmmaker Erik Anders Lang in August 2014 and separated from him in December 2016.
