A hardware store is preparing to close for good. Period Features will continue trading online.

But its shop - on Broad Street, in Leek - is shutting at the end of November after 18 years.

In a social media message to customers, the shop stated: "We are sad to announce that we are closing our bricks and mortar store in Leek at the end of November. Over the last 18 years we have served some wonderful customers and enjoyed being part of your refurbishments big and small and rejoice in the idea that some of our hardware, homeware and colour advice is being enjoyed in homes across the country.

We would like to thank all our lovely customers and amazing staff who have supported us over the years and we hope that you come for a final visit, have a chat, and grab yourself a bargain. We would really appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you soon."
