‘Silicon Valley’ has always done a superb job of reshuffling its plot while testing but ultimately maintaining the relationships between its characters.

The first trailer for its upcoming fourth season has teased that we can expect Silicon Valley to mix things up again, as it showed Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch) quitting Pied Piper and then setting on his noble quest to find the “new internet.”

While the above trailer might have been a little low on laugh out moments, even though the footage of Richard getting his foot trapped in the door after kicking it in frustration immediately made me chortle, it suggested that fourth season of ‘Silicon Valley’ sees the show undergo something of a reboot.

From the clip we can ascertain that Richard (Thomas Middleditch) and Jared (Zach Woods) form a new faction of Pied Piper after Big Head (Josh Brener) and Erlich (T.J. Miller)’s company Bachmanity became the new owners of Pied Piper at the end of the third season. Dinesh (Kumail Nanjiani) and Gilfoye (Martin Starr) seemingly decide to stick with Bachmanity, while the fact that they’re all still in the same house should provide ample opportunity for competition, conflict, and, most importantly, many, many lols.

It looks as though Richard is quickly onto a winner, too, as after declaring his intent to create a new internet he and Jared have the most awkward celebratory scream-off that has ever been committed to the small-screen. Of course, we can expect this joy to be very short lived for the pair, as that’s what we have become accustomed to with ‘Silicon Valley’.

We’ll finally get to see how the new Pied Piper fare, and what Bachmanity decide to call their new company, when the fourth season of ‘Silicon Valley’ begins. Since it will premiere in the US on April 23, 2017, we can expect it to be with UK audiences a week or two later.
