Simon Cowell cancels 60th birthday party at last minute to focus on work
Simon Cowell has cancelled his 60th birthday party with just days to go because he wants to focus on his busy work schedule.
The X Factor boss turned 60 on October 7th and was due to celebrate with friends and family at La Famiglia in London’s Chelsea tonight (Wednesday October 30th), but sent out cancellations at the last minute.
A spokesperson for Cowell told MailOnline: “The decision was made to postpone the dinner yesterday morning.
“Simon's priority is his incredibly busy work schedule over the next month and this, of course, includes the current series of The X Factor as well as other TV and music projects.”

Cowell and his partner Lauren Silverman, 42, sent out a cancellation email saying: “Dear all, I am so sorry but this dinner is cancelled/postponed. Scheduling conflicts unfortunately are prohibiting us from having this dinner at this time.
“We will keep you posted as to when it will be rescheduled for. Thank you for understanding, Lauren and Simon.”
Italian restaurant La Famiglia is a celebrity hotspot that over the years has hosted Princess Margaret, Brigitte Bardot and Michael Caine.
Cowell is currently working as a judge on his new rebooted X Factor series X Factor: Celebrity for ITV, as well as America’s Got Talent in the US.
He and Silverman - who are parents to five-year-old son Eric - attended the Pride Of Britain awards together on Monday night.
The music mogul marked his actual birthday earlier this month with an intimate dinner at Nobu restaurant in Malibu. He was joined by Eric and Silverman as well as Silverman’s 13-year-old son Adam, Alesha Dixon - who has joined him as a judge on America’s Got Talent, his ex and close friend Terri Seymour, and America's Got Talent co-star Howie Mandel.
Cowell is reported to have enjoyed a long meal and emerged from the restaurant smiling to be presented by a bottle of wine from waiting photographers to enjoy on the journey home.

In October 2017 Cowell was rushed to hospital after fainting and falling down the stairs at his London home. He was later diagnosed with low blood pressure.
The famously heavy-smoker has since adopted a vegan diet which has seen him shed over 20lbs.
He told The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently: “I went to see this doctor in London. We did some tests. And then a month later he said, ‘You have the worst diet I've ever met from any patient.’
“So I went, ‘Okay, out of the smoking, the drinking, and diet, what do I have to drop?’ And he said, ‘The diet.’ So I said, ‘I'm in!’”
