Simon Cowell is reportedly going to the extra mile to stop girlfriend Lauren Silverman from doing some post-Christmas sale shopping.
According to reports, the music mogul bid £3,000 in a charity auction for a treatment for his ‘shopaholic’ girlfriend from hypnotist and friend Paul McKenna.

Let’s hope no-one gets any ideas for arranging the same treatment for us (we PROMISE we’ll stop shopping now. Maybe).
Speaking about Simon’s bid to stop Lauren’s shopping habits, a source told The Sun: “It was a huge joke and the whole room roared with laughter when he bid.
“Simon is concerned with Lauren’s shopping and thought this was a great way to bring up the subject without being too confrontational.
“Lauren, her mum and stepmum thought it was great fun. She was a bit concerned later that Paul might make her look silly while under a spell.”
The Mirror reports that Simon joked about Lauren being an ‘unstoppable’ shopper at the gala in Barbados, gaining laughter from other guests.
A source told them that Lauren has ‘fallen in love with shopping in London’, and ‘enjoys lavishing gifts on baby Eric and helping to decorate their home’.
They added: “She dresses impeccably well, too, and you rarely see her in the same outfit twice.”
The auction was held at Mahogany Ridge and raised money for dog charity K9 Friends.
