Simon Pegg on Mission: Impossible 7 character arc after Benji's "unpleasant" Fallout experience

Simon Pegg has discussed what's next for his Mission: Impossible character.

The actor plays Benji Dunn in the film series, which will return with Mission: Impossible 7 in November next year following coronavirus production delays in February.

The film is being shot back-to-back with Mission: Impossible 8 and speaking recently, Simon talked about what's next for Benji following his "unpleasant" experiences during Mission: Impossible — Fallout.

"I'm looking forward to playing him again having been through what he went through on Fallout, which was unpleasant," Simon told The Hollywood Reporter.

"I can see him not being quite as thrilled with the job, and it's gonna be fun to play out the narratives that McQ (Christopher McQuarrie) has set up.

"He's tracking a journey for each of those characters, not just Ethan, but all of us."

Watch Now Mission: Impossible – Fallout

Simon previously confirmed on the Mission: Impossible podcast that the main characters will all get their own individual story arcs in the forthcoming movies.

His latest comments follow tnews that X-Men star Nicholas Hoult has dropped out of Mission: Impossible 7 and 8.

The film's director Christopher McQuarrie previously teased Hoult's involvement in both movies.

However, it's thought scheduling clashes brought about by the movie's filming delay mean Hoult would now be unavailable for the project.

He will be replaced by How to Get Away with Murder star Esai Morales.

Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8, which are being shot back-to-back, will now be released on November 19, 2021 and November 4, 2022.
