Summer may be officially over, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy an ice cream in the cooler temperatures. Ice creams can be messy, but there’s a simple hack which requires minimal effort and no washing up after.
An ice cream cookie sandwich, if you’re unfamiliar with them, is a scoop - or several - of ice cream wedged between two cookies, creating a sweet sandwich treat. They can be purchased pre-prepared or you can assemble your own with ice cream and cookies of your choice.
However it can pose a messy dilemma, so one foodie fan has shared an ‘epic’ tip to create the perfect ice cream cookie sandwich without all of the drama of making a mess or any extra washing up, reported MirrorOnline.
Charles Gilles-Compagnon, also known as Fast Good Cuisine on social media, has gained acclaim for food challenges, recipes and hacks. In a TikTok creating the ice cream sarnie, Charles showed off two quick tips using a tub of Ben & Jerry’s and a knife.
Starting off with a tub of Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough, the influencer uses a knife to cut straight into the tub just below the lid to get an even slab of ice cream. Not too dissimilar to cutting a loaf of bread.
Charles dishes out the ice cream slice and places onto a pre-made chocolate chip cookie, sandwiching together with another cookie on top. In another shot, the TikToker cuts the tub of ice cream at the bottom, again creating an even disk.
He then places the ice cream, still wrapped in the tub’s packaging, between two cookies before peeling the wrapping back, revealing the 'perfect' ice-cream cookie sandwich. Charles’ video has been viewed over a massive 22.2 million times.
Some food fans were stunned by his hack, with one person saying: “so you've just wasted a tub of expensive ice cream on an ice cream sandwich.. well done.”
Others were less impressed, with @benshalashaskacro saying: “So you've just wasted a tub of expensive ice cream on an ice cream sandwich.. well done.”
