The Simpsons is making its Disney debut at D23 Expo.

The animated series, which is in its historic 30th season, will feature at the event for the first time ever following the Disney/Fox merger, which saw the House of Mouse officially take hold of Fox's entertainment branch in March.

D23 Expo takes place at the end of August.

On Saturday, August 24, The Simpsons creator Matt Groening, executive producer Al Jean, executive producer Matt Selman, supervising director Mike B Anderson, and stars Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith will all take part in a panel that will give insight into the new season.

During the convention, fans will also have the opportunity to get up close and personal with Bart, Lisa, and the rest of the Simpsons family on the convention floor, while a few lucky fans will even get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Matt Groening and the rest of the panelists during a one-hour autograph signing session following the panel.

Speaking previously about the Disney/Fox merger, Lisa actress Nancy Cartwright said: "When you're dealing with something that is still so culturally relevant, and sort of such a pillar of our culture, if you're going to mess with that, that's some pretty risky territory.

"So my feeling is - and I could be completely wrong - is that they would cancel it before they would change it [creatively]."

The comments come after Fox co-chairman Dana Walden expressed her optimism about keeping The Simpsons on Fox post-merger.
