We simulated Liverpool vs Bournemouth to get a Premier League score prediction
After falling to a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest in their last outing, Liverpool will be looking to put things right and bounce back against Bournemouth this weekend.
After picking up three wins from three for a perfect start to the season, a frustrating display in Liverpool's last Premier League game saw them lose 1-0 at home to Nottingham Forest, handing Arne Slot his first defeat as Liverpool boss. A convincing 3-1 win away to AC Milan in the Champions League midweek showed that it may have just been a slight blip however, but the Reds can prove that when they face Bournemouth later today.
The last meeting between Liverpool and Bournemouth saw the Reds win 4-0 on the south coast, with Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota both grabbing two goals each. Slot has been handed a blow ahead of the clash against the Cherries though, with Alisson a doubt due to a muscle injury.
So, can Liverpool return to winning ways in the Premier League later today? Let's take a look.
We simulated Liverpool vs Bournemouth to get a score prediction
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.
We predict that Liverpool could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai; Salah, Jota, Diaz.
We predict that Bournemouth could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Kepa; Smith, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kerkez; Cook, Christie; Semenyo, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson.
Like we saw in Milan, Liverpool got off to a very slow start at Anfield, and they were made to pay the price when Antoine Semenyo beat Andrew Robertson for pace before flashing a powerful strike across goal and into the far corner of the net. The early goal seemed to be the wake-up call needed for Slot's side, and after a period of dominance, they levelled the score.
After Mohamed Salah's shot was saved by Kepa and any danger looked to have ended, a calamitous clearance from the goalkeeper saw the ball fall to the feet of Dominik Szoboszlai just outside the box. The Hungarian acted quickly to fire back at goal, and he curled the ball around the 'keeper to make it 1-1.
It was a great response from the Reds, and just before the break, Liverpool completed the comeback when Diogo Jota slid in at the far post to tap home Szoboszlai's drilled cross. Bournemouth came out energetic in the second half, but the Reds managed to ride the wave, and after gaining control, Slot's side managed to grab a third with just under 20 minutes remaining.
Liverpool were crushing the Bournemouth defence with relentless pressure, and a well-worked move saw Alexis Mac Allister, Salah, and Luis Diaz all combine, to work around the Cherries' defence and into the box. Salah slipped in Diaz who had drifted away from his marker, and a punishing finish put daylight between the two sides.
The Cherries almost pulled a goal back in the 91st minute when Alex Scott was pulled down in the box by Ryan Gravenberch, but in place of Alisson, Caomihin Kelleher made a fantastic save from the resulting penalty as the game finished 3-1.
EA FC 25 predicted final score: Liverpool 3-1 Bournemouth
