It’s a Sin series finale spoilers follow.
Channel 4 drama It's a Sin concluded on Friday night (February 19) after five episodes which showed the devastating effects of the HIV-AIDS crisis on the LGBTQ+ community.
The heartbreaking episode saw Olly Alexander's Ritchie Tozer in the early '90s, after being diagnosed with AIDS and struggling with various health complications due to the disease.
His friends Jill (Lydia West), Roscoe (Omari Douglas) and Ash (Nathaniel Curtis) cared for him at home in London but his parents were both unaware of his illness.
But when he was taken to hospital, Ritchie's parents (Keeley Hawes and Shaun Dooley) unexpectedly came to visit him and struggled to accept their son's diagnosis.
Ritchie was then brought back to their home on the Isle of Man, where his friends were kept from visiting him, despite Jill pleading with his mother.
Towards the end of the episode, Ritchie sadly succumbed to the disease, without being given the chance to say goodbye to his friends.
Viewers were brought to tears by the series' heartbreaking ending, as the episode showed flashbacks of Ritchie and his friends in happier times.
And many people, having watched all five episodes of the drama, praised it as one of the best and most important TV shows in recent years.
