Singer claims Chris Noth 'threatened to ruin her career' over sex allegation

A singer has claimed Chris Noth, the "Sex and the City" actor, threatened to ruin her career if she went public with a sexual allegation.

Lisa Gentile claimed the actor tried to force himself on her at her apartment in New York in 2002.

At a press conference with high-profile lawyer Gloria Allred, she described having become acquainted with Noth when they both used to go to the same restaurant in New York.

She said he offered a lift home on a Saturday night and then asked to come up to her apartment, where they drank wine while her roommates were asleep.

Ms Gentile claimed Noth then leaned her against a kitchen counter, started forcibly kissing her and put his hands aggressively" under her shirt while she tried to push them away.

As she yelled "No I don't want this" he became "extremely angry" and called her a "tease" and a "b---," she claimed.

'He threatened to ruin my career'

She claimed that the next day he telephoned her and threatened to ruin her career if she told anyone what had happened.

She said: "He warned me that if I ever told a soul about what happened the night before that he would ruin my career, that I would never sing again and that he would blacklist me in the business."

Ms Gentile added: "I'm speaking out now in support of the other women who have come forward. I feel we should have our day in court to hold him accountable.

"I was afraid to come forward because of Mr Noth’s power and his threats to ruin my career."

On Dec 16 Noth was accused of sexual assault by two women who made their allegations anonymously to The Hollywood Reporter.

Noth has categorically denied assaulting either woman, and said both encounters were consensual.

In a statement issued after the initial allegations he said: "The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false.

"These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago - no always means no - that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual."

He added: "It's difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don't know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women."

The actor recently appeared as his character Mr Big in a "Sex and the City" sequel called "And Just Like That...".
