Single woman is bored of waiting for Mr Right so is marrying HERSELF

A single woman is so fed up with the hunt for ‘Mr Right’ that she has decided to marry herself.

Singleton Lynne Gollogly, 39, is throwing herself a full white wedding, but when she says ‘I do’ it won’t be to anyone else – just herself.

Lynne, who says she has “no interest” in being a relationship and is “happy being me”, has gone all out for her wedding, with a traditional wedding dress, ‘top secret’ venue and makeup trials.

She’s planned two hen parties ahead of the bash in April, and will also be enjoying a ‘honeymoon’ in Rome on her own.

The business analyst, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, got the idea from an episode of TV series FRIENDS but knows she can’t actually marry herself legally.

She said: “It’s always something I’ve wanted to do, and because ‘Mr. Right’ hasn’t turned up yet – I’m just going to go ahead and get married without him.”

While there will be no legal ceremony, the big event will take place in the form of a wedding party complete with disco, buffet and guests having a “general knees up”.

Lynne said: “I’ve had a lot of potentials in the past, but I’m not just going to settle for anyone just so I fit into today’s society.”

She added: “I’ve been single for a while now and have no interest in being in a relationship. I did get engaged once, when I was younger, but it was silly and nothing came of it.

“I think with these things I’d never say never – but I’m not going to hang around for much longer.”

Lynne’s mum Flo Gollogly, 68, who helped her daughter pick out her dress, said: “Lynne has just not met the right man and she is proud to do things by herself – and I’m really looking forward to her party.”
