Yahoo News The Sinner season 3's first teaser trailer offers bad news for fans
The Sinner has given fans a taste of its upcoming third season with the release of a short new teaser trailer – but it's also come with some bad news.
While the quick clip has plenty to keep viewers guessing, including a look at a deadly car crash, the return of Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) and a first look at series newcomer Matt Bomer, it also ended with the news that it won't be arriving on screens until 2020.
With no premiere date confirmed just yet, it's clear we're in for a bit of a wait before we see more from the USA Network hit.

The Sinner season 3 follows Detective Ambrose as he begins a routine investigation into a tragic car accident on the outskirts of Dorchester, New York, but it's not long before he uncovers a hidden crime that pulls him into "the most dangerous and disturbing case of his career".
While viewers will be familiar with Detective Ambrose from the first two seasons of the crime anthology series, Bomer has joined the cast as a new series regular, playing expectant father Jamie, an upstanding Dorchester resident who looks to Ambrose for support in the wake of an accident.

Also starring in season 3 is Chris Messina as Jamie's college friend Nick Haas, while Jessica Hecht plays a painter called Sonya who gets involved after the car accident occurs on her property.
Paris Fitz-Henley stars as Jamie's wife Leela, while Eddie Martinez appears as Vic Soto, a rising star detective who works with Ambrose.
Season 3 of The Sinner will also bring back season 1 star Jessica Biel, but only as a producer – although the star has refused to rule out returning on-screen at some point in The Sinner's future.
"The answer is I don't know. It could be possible," she said. "But I'm not sure, I'm not sure it will ever happen."
The Sinner is currently available to watch now on Netflix UK, and will return to the USA Network for its third season stateside in 2020.
