Sir Bruce Forsyth's widow ruled out Strictly appearance as he 'would have hated one thing'
Sir Bruce Forsyth's widow Wilnelia has admitted she would never have done Strictly Come Dancing – because he would never approve.
Lady Forsyth was recently spotted with a group of friends performing a skilfully-choreographed routine to Colombian singer Karol G’s, leading fans to comment: “Think you’d definitely Win Strictly Winnie!!”
However, the Puerto Rico-born former Miss World has ruled out competing for the glitter ball, explaining: “I don't think my husband would have taken the criticism of the judges very well.”
Wilnelia met Bruce Forsyth in 1980, when they were both judges at the Miss World contest. They married in New York three years later. When he appeared on Desert Island Discs in 1996, Brucie said their jet-setting courtship was “all very romantic.”
He told host Sue Lawley: “It was the most romantic time in my life. I was going over to New York to see her and she was coming over here, working in Paris and maybe seeing her. It was all very romantic, the phone calls, the going there and the coming here and all that sort of thing.
He added that when he visited his wife’s home country, he realise she was great deal more famous than he was. He continued: “With her being an ex Miss World, the lovely thing about me going there is that I’m Mr Nobody, so when we got married, I wasn’t Bruce Forsyth, the British entertainer and millionaire, I was Signor Mundo, Mr World.”

Although Wilnelia was some 29 years younger than her husband, Sir Bruce joked about the age gap, saying: “They keep up with me very well. Age is a state of mind. I honestly can say I don’t feel any different from when I was 35, 40 years of age.”
Wilnelia was with the national treasure in his very last moments, recalling that the irrepressible entertainer was surrounded by all his daughters, who kept him company and watched films together.
She said that she felt "lucky" that all the close family members managed to say goodbye at the very end.
