The sister of missing midwife Samantha Eastwood has made an emotional appeal for help in tracing her sibling, saying: “We miss you very much, we need you home where you belong.”

Ms Eastwood, 28, was last seen leaving her night shift at the Royal Stoke Hospital in Staffordshire on Friday July 27 at 7.47am.

When she failed to arrive for her evening shift later that day, her colleagues raised concerns about her whereabouts.

Speaking at Staffordshire Police Headquarters this morning, Gemma Eastwood described her “happy, bubbly” sister as “warm and generous with a great sense of humour.

“If she’s out there, or anyone knows where she is, please get in touch,” she said.

The 26-year-old support worker added: “Samantha was determined to become a midwife from a young age and succeeded. All of Samantha’s work friends describe her as an amazing midwife.

“She’s caring, harmless and gentle. She’s generous and will do anything for anyone before herself.”

Ms Eastwood is described as white, approximately 5ft 3in tall, of medium build, with shoulder-length ginger hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion with freckles.

CCTV footage showed her leaving work with a colleague last Friday, before driving off alone. Police said her mood at the time was “happy and jovial”.
