Siva Kaneswaran has signed up for 'Dancing on Ice.'

The 33-year-old pop star is the final celebrity to be announced to be taking part in the upcoming ITV skating series - which is set to return to screens in early 2023 - but admitted he had had thoughts of backing out and was given words of encouragement by The Wanted bandmate Jay McGuinness, who competed on BBC rival 'Strictly Come Dancing' in 2015.

He said: "I was talking to my manager this morning in the car and I was like 'Can I change my mind?' But overall, I'm really excited. I'm gonna go do some training and meet Torvill and Dean. But I've never skated before. I've skated a bit with the in-laws and the penguin. Basically, the penguin is the support thing for kids on the ice and I've used that. The Wanted aren't really known for their dancing. Jay has given me some very valuable words of encouragement so he's gonna be there. I'm just looking forward to meeting all the cast and all the crew. I think I'm going to do OK. I'm quite competitive but not to the point where it's unhealthy, I want to focus on the joy of it, I want to learn how to skate, make the family proud, and just put on a show."

The 'Glad You Came' hitmaker went on to pay tribute to his bandmate Tom Parker - who died earlier this year after battling a brain tumour - and explained his bandmate's zest for life is part of his decision to take to the rink.

Speaking on 'Good Morning Britain', he added: "To be honest, I'm just living day by day. But mostly, I look back and smile. He taught me so much about life. He taught me to live life and not be afraid. That's one of the reasons I'm doing the show. He was 33. I just chatted to [his widow] Kelsie yesterday. She's doing well, just keeping her chin up and just taking it day by day."

Siva is the last famous face to be confirmed for 'Dancing on Ice', and will join Liberty X star Michelle Heaton, TOWIE’ alum Joey Essex, 'Drag Race' contestant The Vivienne, former 'EastEnders' actress Patsy Palmer, football legend John Fashanu, 'Love Island' star Ekin-Su Culculoglu, ex-'Hollyoaks' star Carley Stenson, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson and ‘Coronation Street’ actress Mollie Gallagher.
