Aberdeen will shell out £300,000 to sign Norwegian midfielder Sivert Heltne Nilsen from Brann.

The new Dons boss Jimmy Thelin is keen to reunite with Nilsen, having previously made him captain at his former club Elfsborg when the duo were together between 2019 and 2021.

He would become the Dons' fourth signing of the summer after the arrivals of Gavin Molloy, Peter Ambrose and Dimitar Mitov in recent weeks, writes the Daily Record.

The midfielder, who will turn 33 later this year, is set to put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Pittodrie, according to reports in Norway.

Nilsen said his goodbyes to his Norwegian teammates on Wednesday and has now made the trip across to the north-east. He will go through his medical and if all goes to plan will be announced as an Aberdeen player imminently.
