Every dog deserves a loving home and these six rescue dogs are no exception.

RSPCA shelters are currently full to bursting with more dogs coming into rescue than are being rehomed. Dogs range from sweet Eve, a gentle natured American Akita, to bouncy bull breed Fred.

All these dogs deserve a second chance - could you provide a loving home?

Daisy

Daisy was born at the centre after her mum was brought in due to welfare concerns. She has spent the first part of her life in a home but after a while she began to find life a little overwhelming so she came back to the centre and has since been assessed and helped by a clinical behaviourist.

She has come on leaps and bounds and we now understand much better how Daisy thinks and feels about the world around her. She is quite independent and will happily play and spend time alone but she can however be very loveable and affectionate and will seek out interactions from the kennel staff.

She is a typical Lurcher who needs to burn of all of her energy and then will quite happily relax in her bed until she is ready to go out again. She is looking for an active adult only home with someone who has had experience with large, energetic dogs and who also has time and patience to continue with her training.

Lyra

Loveable Lyra is a sweet girl who arrived at the centre after her needs were not being met. Since being here, she has thrived and has become such a sweet well rounded dog.

Lyra loves everyone she meets and is such a friendly girl that loves nothing more than a cuddle. Despite this she still loves going on long walks and playing in the paddocks with her toys.

She is on the lookout for someone who would love some cuddles on a sofa. She is still learning everyday and continuing this in a home would help her keep calm and settled.

Eve

Eve is a calm quiet American Akita who since arriving has become a favourite among volunteer dog walkers and staff. Despite being quiet, she still shows people a lot of affection and is such a sweet natured girl who likes to meet new people when she goes out.

She’s a really smart girl who knows some tricks such as paw. Eve is a really good walker and looks forward to her long walks where she can have lots of sniffs and see the world.

Not much of a ball fetcher, she just prefers to have a sniff and then come back to her handler for some cuddles. Eve has shown to not be bothered by dogs that are out and about, even coming out and being around one of our dog shows.

Karma

Karma is a two-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross Rhodesian Ridge Back who is full of character... She is an extremely intelligent girl who loves her training as well as her play time.

Karma is full of energy so will need an active family who are experienced with similar breeds/high energy dogs. She is struggling with kennel life and is becoming quite frustrated, however, she is still very willing to learn new things.

Karma has aced her basic manners, but still has a lot to learn, so will need a family willing to continue her training. She can be very strong on lead, however once focused she will walk lovely, this training will need to be continued once in her forever home.

Jadey

Jadey

Jadey is a two-year-old, Old Tyme Bulldog. She is a lovely girl who loves a cuddle but is also happy pottering around our social spaces doing her own thing.

She enjoys playing with her toys, going out on walks and seeing her doggy friends. Jadey loves going for walks out with other dogs, however, she can become very excited so her friends will need to be tolerant.

She may be able to live with another tolerant dog, dependent on successful meets. This lovely girl is very food driven which makes her very susceptible to training!

She can be strong on lead, however, with continued training she is improving with this. This is something her future family will need to be willing to work with. Jadey came to the RSPCA after she was neglected in her previous home, so she does still require some basic training which her future family will need to be patient with.

Fred

Fred
Fred

Fred is a bouncy one-year-old Bull Breed who came to the RSPCA after being abandoned in a multi dog household. This hasn't stopped him from being a vibrant and energetic boy with lots and lots of love to give.

Fred didn't take long to settle into kennel life, he's been a bundle of joy from the day he arrived and he's definitely won over all of the staff with his cute face and affectionate ways.

Fred is a very affectionate boy and loves his cuddles and kisses - but he can sometimes forget how big he is and is currently learning that he must keep all four paws on the floor when greeting new people. This is definitely a work in progress.

Fred loves to play with toys such as tennis balls, and whilst he may want you to chase him for it- he is very good for letting go of toys so you can throw it for him again

Fred is a little foodie so this makes his training very easy. He is learning all his commands and working on his recall and so far he's smashing his training.

Fred is looking for a home with children of secondary school age 11+ that are dog savvy and understand that he can sometimes be excitable and boisterous.
