Six Netflix psychological thrillers that will leave you doubting everything

We’re done with Valentine’s Day and you can finally remove the “romantic comedies” search from your Netflix.

But now you’re stuck for something to watch, so let us help you with our latest flick through the streaming giant’s vast array of content.

At the beginning of February, a global original called Russian Doll caught the attention of subscribers and critics alike as the series propelled mind-bending thrillers back to the forefront of our binge watching.

So if you’re looking for something creepy that will leave you questioning which way is up, check out some of these psychological series and films.

Russian Doll

Nadia Vulvokov – played by Natasha Lyonne – is left in a state of disarray and confusion after she dies on her 36th birthday…only to immediately respawn in the bathroom. Throughout the episodes, Nadia repeatedly dies and comes back on the night of her 36th birthday.

The dark comedy is probably one of the most bingeable series on Netflix as you, like Nadia, become determined to understand what in the world is going on.

Cam

Released last year, Cam is an independent psychologically thriller about a young webcam model who has her accounts taken over by a lookalike hacker. As Alice tries to regain her online persona, the head-to-head gets darker and darker, delving into violence and racked with lies.

Inception

Ask anybody for a trippy film and they’ll recommend this one, we guarantee it. But in the event you haven’t seen it or want to watch it again, the Christopher Nolan mind-bender is sitting pretty on Netflix.

Leonardo DiCaprio stars as professional thief Dom Cobb, who earns his money by stealing personal information from a target’s subconscious. But everything changes when he’s offered the chance to erase his criminal past by having somebody else’s idea implanted into him, unlocking a whole new universe for him.

Gone Girl

Based on a book of the same name by Gillian Flynn, Gone Girl put Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike in the middle of a psychologically-charged thriller. Affleck’s character Nick Dunne has his life turned upside down when he becomes the top suspect in the sudden disappearance of his wife, Amy.

But as the investigation grows, it isn’t just the case that gets unlocked in front of the cameras – and there is even more going on behind the scenes.

The Girl On The Train

Emily Blunt stars as alcoholic Rachel Watson, a woman with a dangerous obsession that unwittingly throws her into the middle of a police investigation and a web of lies.

But a blackout means Rachel can't remember what happened on that fateful night, putting her right in the spotlight as she takes it upon herself to work out what really happened to Megan.

You

Everyone has been talking about this American drama, dropped on Netflix at the tail end of last year. The series follows Joe Goldberg – played by Penn Badgley – who develops an obsession with Beck, played by Elizabeth Lail.

The heavy social media stalker soon infiltrates himself into her life and proves just how far he’ll go to keep her close.
