Once-in-a-lifetime: Fortnum & Mason are hosting a candlelit midnight feast

A lot can be packed into two days, especially in London. There are only two days left of London Food Month, or 48 hours if you prefer, and many of the best events have, as received wisdom goes, been saved until last. We’ve had a Night Market, collaborations with restaurants from Venice, meals on boats and cocktails under ground. The party is still raging. Here’s where to catch all the action. All events can be booked at londonfoodmonth.co.uk.

The Laurent-Perrier Lunch Cruise

A rare chance to dine aboard the Silver Sturgeon river cruiser based at Savoy Pier beside Cleopatra’s Needle on Victoria Embankment — the boat is usually only available for private charter events.

Cruise from Westminster to Greenwich and back sipping Laurent Perrier while enjoying a three-course set prepared by head chef Douglas Gaunt and his team, freshly created in the galley with seasonal produce.

The menu will be complemented by fine wines selected by the sommelier, coffee, herbal infusions and petits fours featuring handmade Laurent-Perrier champagne truffles.

The Silver Sturgeon celebrates her 20th birthday this year, having been built in Norfolk by the Woods family, who have been Thames Watermen since 1866. You’re in good company: clients who have been aboard include Chanel, Conde Nast, Google, Jaguar and the royal family.

Friday, £125, Silver Sturgeon, Savoy Pier, Victoria Embankment, WC2
