Patients in south east London could suffer as six more GP surgeries have been found to be underperforming and in need of urgent change this year.

In 2022, two GP surgeries in south east London have been rated inadequate and four require improvement.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the body that inspects healthcare providers and then releases a report ranking them into one of four categories:

Outstanding

The service is performing exceptionally well.

Good

The service is performing well and meeting expectations.

Requires improvement

The service is not performing as well as it should and the CQC has told the service how it must improve.

Inadequate

The service is performing badly and the CQC has taken action against the person or organisation that runs it.

The CQC looks at whether the service is safe, effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs, and well-led.

We’ve searched through Google Reviews to see how people’s real experiences compare with the CQC’s inspections.

Here’s a list of six poorly rated GP surgeries in south east London to help you see which GP services were ranked in the lowest two categories.
