Sixteen-year-old Deja Foxx asked Republican Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona why it is his “right to take away my right to Planned Parenthood” during a town hall in Mesa on April 13.

Foxx began by highlighting the differences in race, privilege and position between herself and Flake before asking him to explain his stance on Planned Parenthood. “So, I’m wondering, as a Planned Parenthood patient and someone who relies on Title X, who you are clearly not, why it’s your right to take away my right to choose Planned Parenthood and to choose no-co-pay birth control, to access that.” Foxx said.

Flake had difficulty responding to many of the questions and comments due to the noise from the crowd. Credit: Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona via Storyful
