Sky Atlantic have announced their smash hit drama Riviera will be returning for a third season.

After becoming Sky Atlantic's most-watched original series, the second season debuted on the channel last night (May 23).

It stars Julia Stiles as Georgina Clios, who is attempting to unravel the secrets of her wealthy husband's life after his death in the French Riviera.

And season three will see Julia move from the glamour of the Riviera to the equally sophisticated Venice and Argentina.

Stiles, who will also executive produce season three, said: "You’d think that there was nothing left for the Riviera to throw at Georgina, but series three is our most ambitious yet.

"I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible drama. The chance to deliver another season of Riviera is exciting."

Meanwhile, the current series will see the Elthams, an aristocratic English family with secrets of their own, coming onto the scene and causing mischief.

Arrested Development legend Will Arnett is also making his debut as Georgina's charismatic uncle Jeff, while World War Z actor Grégory Fitoussi will make his appearance as a handsome and mysterious love interest called Noah.

Stiles has described Arnett's character as "someone who sees through her armour. Will is perfectly cast as her mysterious and yet charming Uncle and I am excited to explore how far Georgina will go to protect her new life".

Other new faces joining the show include Poppy Delevingne (Kingsman: The Golden Circle), Juliet Stevenson (Truly, Madly, Deeply) and Jack Fox (Kids In Love).
