Sky Broadband best deals for Black Friday 2024, plus packages explained
Whether you're a light broadband user or looking for something superfast that can cope with heavy internet usage, there are lots of providers who would love your custom if you're looking to switch up your internet deals – especially as Black Friday is upon us.
Sky is best known for its satellite offering, its own-brand Sky Glass TV sets and its newer streaming service packages like Sky Stream, but it also sells mobile and broadband options, plus packages bundling one or more of its services. Many birds, one stone.
Read on to find out more about Sky's broadband deals, plus packages from its sibling brand NOW. For a deeper dive into Sky's Black Friday promos, head this way.
Sky broadband checker
The first thing to do when selecting a new home broadband provider – always check what speeds you can get to make sure you're receiving the best value for money and choosing a package that will work for you.
Ofcom's broadband checker is a great place to start. Simply pop your postcode into the box when the page loads and it will estimate the available speeds in your area, so you can choose a package to match.
If you've decided you'd like to go with Sky, you'll be prompted to enter your postcode and house or flat number when buying a new broadband package.
Existing Sky customers can check their service at https://www.sky.com/servicechecker, and its Service Status page also shows details of any known issues in your area.
Sky also offers a "Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee" for in-contract part fibre or full fibre packages of Superfast 35 and upwards, when using its own provided router and boosters. This is activated "if you can't get 3Mb/s WiFi in every room" of your property. Exterior buildings and unconverted lofts are excluded from this arrangement, as are sheds and outhouses.
Customers can claim once for a refund of a month's broadband subscription at "any time during 24-month min. term after first 14 days", according to the terms and conditions. Full terms are here.
If you've got Sky Broadband Boost or Sky WiFi Max, then these provisions won't apply to you as these options "have their own WiFi guarantee".
Sky broadband Black Friday 2024 deals – plus packages explained
The Sky broadband packages available to you will depend on where you live in the country. All prices are for a 24-month minimum agreement and may change during that contract period – our last price check took place on Thursday, November 28.
The Superfast part-fibre package is recommended for "streaming and downloading on multiple devices", while the speediest Full Fibre Gigafast package is marketed as "best for the busiest households or hardcode gamers".
As mentioned above, enter your postcode and house name or number to find out what speeds you should be able to get in your area.
Where we've been able to find price availability dates listed in Sky's terms and extra information, we've noted them against each package.
• Superfast: Average download speed of 61Mbps. Priced at £26/month
• Full Fibre 75: Average download speed of 75 Mbps. Priced at £26/month
• Full Fibre 100: Average download speed of 100Mbps. Priced at £27/month
• Full Fibre 150: Average download speed of 150Mbps. Priced at £27/month (Sky is describing this as its "lowest ever price" for the Full Fibre 150 package. The offer is available until Tuesday, December 3.)
• Full Fibre 300: Average download speed of 400Mbps. Priced at £40/month
• Full Fibre 500: Average download speed of 500Mbps. Priced at £33/month
• Full Fibre Gigafast: Average download speed of 900Mbps. Priced at £43/month
While there are no upfront fees on Sky's broadband offers, prices are not fixed during the 24-month contract, so could go up in that time. Sky's last price increase to broadband packages took effect in April 2024.

Sky broadband and TV package bundle deals
At checkout, you'll be invited to add a TV package to your preferred broadband package to make a bundle. Sky offers three different TV options: the traditional Sky Q box, the Sky Glass integrated TV, and the Sky Stream box – which works with your existing TV set.
Packages vary – and of course, you can customise to your needs – but the current options are listed as of Thursday, November 28. All are 24-month contracts, and prices may change during the minimum term.

Sky broadband add-ons explained
When purchasing Sky broadband, you'll be invited to choose from a selection of add-ons such as:
• Sky Talk (24-month minimum term): For those of you who still have a landline and like to chat on it, you can choose from three unlimited call plans – Talk Evenings & Weekends (£8/month), Talk Anytime (£16/month) or Talk International (£18/month).
Prices may change during the 24-month agreement, but each plan includes calls to both UK landlines and mobiles. Talk International also opens up "50 worldwide destinations" as part of the plan.
One important thing: Sky's calling services are provided via broadband, not through the regular landline network – and your landline handset will plug into the back of your router instead of the wall.
Essentially, these tech changes mean that if your broadband falls over, you won't be able to use the phone. Check out this explainer from Ofcom, which goes into more detail about changes to move all landlines to digital tech over the next couple of years.
You will also be asked at checkout to confirm that you have a mobile you can use to place emergency calls, and that you don't have a connected social or care alarm that uses the regular landline network. If you don't have a mobile or do have a connected care alarm, you'll be invited to call the Sky team to discuss alternative arrangements.
• Sky Broadband Boost (£5/month over 24-month minimum term): A premium service available with selected packages offering daily line checks, engineer visits during evenings and weekends if required, and complimentary WiFi boosters to improve connection if needed.
Your Boost payment will be refunded if you don't get WiFi in every room of your home – note this replaces Sky's standard "Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee".
• WiFi Max hub (£4/month, no additional delivery charge): Pictured above, this upgraded hub is a WiFi 6 router, which has more advanced security features than the default Sky Max router or the Standard hub issued with the Superfast 35 package.
It also offers control over individual devices' access to the network via the MySky app. Again, the price for this service may change over the course of a 24-month contract.
NOW broadband packages
NOW is another brand owned by Sky. Many of you might be aware that it offers access to certain Sky content and packages through contract-free, themed memberships (Entertainment, Sky Cinema, Sky Sports, Sky Kids and Hayu), but you may now have been aware that it also offers broadband packages.
NOW's broadband services are powered by Sky (you'll be transferred to Sky's website to check availability and place your order). NOW offers three full fibre broadband tiers, and each is available "to 51% of UK homes".

• NOW Full Fibre 75 has average download speeds of 69-75Mbps and estimated upload speeds of between 15-17 Mbps. It's priced at £24/month for a 24-month minimum term.
• NOW Full Fibre 100 has average download speeds of 100-108Mbps and estimated upload speeds of 18-19 Mbps. It costs £26/month for a 24-month minimum term.
• NOW Full Fibre 300 has average download speeds of 298-314Mbps and estimated upload speeds of 39-47 Mbps. It costs £31/month for a 24-month minimum term.
All three packages usually have a £10 activation fee and £9.95 delivery fee, but these are currently waived as of November 28, 2024. Note however that "non-standard set up may cost extra", according to NOW's terms – and "prices may vary if you live in a flat".
NOW's broadband packages also include a wall-to-wall WiFi guarantee similar to the one offered to Sky's broadband customers, which it describes as "WiFi in every room or [your] money back".
For customers who can't get Full Fibre, NOW also offers part-fibre packages. To see which broadband products from NOW are available in your area, check here.
