Sky Cinema is rewarding those who choose to stay indoors this July with some great recent movies, including the Daniel Craig-starring whodunnit Knives Out and the return of Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves for Bill and Ted Face the Music.

On the original front, there's an Ireland-set romance and a thriller in which Casey Affleck portrays a psychiatrist whose life is rapidly unravelling. TV-wise, Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan return for more episodes of their challenge-based series.

Violinist Finley (Rose Reid) travels to Ireland to study abroad after an audition for a prestigious New York school goes very wrong. She bumps into movie star Beckett Rush (Jedidiah Goodacre from Disney's Descendants) and they start a romance which changes Finley's life. The film is arriving in the UK via Sky after its American release in cinemas earlier this year.

In this thriller directed by Vaughn Stein, Casey Affleck plays a therapist whose world is rocked after the death of a patient. Things become even more complex when he invited the patient's brother — portrayed by the always excellent Sam Claflin — into his home to meet his wife (Michelle Monaghan). The movie has had a long path to the big screen, with Rob Reiner at one point attached to direct with Harrison Ford and Zac Efron in the cast.

Stand-up comedians doing things for which they are woefully unqualified has always been a TV staple, and Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan's Sky series has been a great example of that in recent years. The first half of the third series of their challenge show saw them take on drag performance, golf and even art. This second part focuses on sport, with an eye on the Tokyo Olympics.

Veteran presenter of The South Bank Show Melvyn Bragg again fronts this annual celebration of all brands of culture, from classical music and opera through to visual art, film and television. There's an extra wrinkle to this year's ceremony in that serves as a love letter to various industries in the creative sphere which have been hit hard by the continuing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
