Sky customers can instantly unlock 70 hidden channels on their TV at no extra cost – and it includes Sky Sports. A number of Sky Sports channels are available on the platform Xumo Play, which is available to both Sky Glass and Sky Stream.

The service is a little-known streaming app that instantly provides access to more channels at no extra cost. Owned by Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast (which owns Sky) and Charter, this marks the first time Xumo Play has been available outside North America.

The app brings a wealth of content to UK viewers, featuring over 70 free streaming channels ahead of Christmas. These channels cover a wide range of genres, including news (with channels like Reuters), entertainment, and lifestyle programming. There are three Sky Sports branded channels in the mix, including Sky Sports Stories, Sky Sports Classics and Sky Sports Vault.

Sky Sports Stories showcases sport documentaries, while Sky Sports Classics is the home of football archives. Sky Sports Vault looks back on archive darts, EFL, and boxing content including 30 Years of The PDC World Darts Championship and Fight Night.

The platform also includes The Real Housewives of Miami, Homes Under The Hammer and Great British Menu. The on-demand library includes a mix of content, from known titles to more obscure offerings. Users can find shows like 21 Jump Street, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Kim’s Convenience, The Dick Van Dyke Show, and Bonanza.

Sky TV customers with Sky Glass or Sky Stream can find the free Xumo Play app in the apps rail of their device’s interface. Alternatively, users can access the app by saying “Xumo Play” into their Sky voice remote. It comes after, earlier in 2024, Virgin Media added 11 new FAST channels to its lineup, including themed channels like History Hunters, Deal Masters, and UKTV Play Laughs.
