Sky has announced it is launching three new limited edition set top boxes inspired by its Formula 1 channel so fans can really show their need for speed.
The company is continuing its decade long association with designers, and this time around Sky has joined forces with racing legend Sir Stirling Moss OBE, Jodie Kidd and comedian Vic Reeves in order to create the limited edition Sky+ HD 1TB Designer Box Collection, inspired by Formula 1.
The exclusive collection will launch ahead of the British Grand Prix in July, although customers can register their interest in the boxes via www.sky.com/designerboxes.
"The idea for my design came from a car sculpture on the roof of my home which I designed myself, inspired by the racing cars from my era," says Sterling Moss on the reason behind his design.
The Sky+ HD 1TB box lets customers access up to 60 HD channels depending on their subscription, with recording space of up to 240 hours of HD or 740 hours of standard definition programmes. It also comes 3D-ready.
Each Sky+ HD 1TB designer Box, inspired by Formula 1 racing, varies depending on whether you are already a subscriber or not. They will cost £99 for Sky TV customers taking their first HD package (at £10.25 per month) or £149 for existing Sky+ HD customers and new customers taking Sky with the HD pack. Any additional boxes thereafter or when taken without the HD Pack are £249.
Standard set-up is £30 for new customers and £60 for existing Sky TV customers.
