ABC's anticipated new drama The Good Doctor will air on Sky Living in the UK, so you had better book an appointment for your sofa this autumn.

The show premieres over the pond today (September 25) and boasts a pretty impressive cast led by Bates Motel's Freddie Highmore.

It follows a young surgeon with autism and Savant syndrome called Shaun (Highmore), who is recruited at a prestigious hospital and must save lives despite the fact he cannot personally connect with the people around him.

The first trailer for the new House-like drama debuted a few months ago, and you can watch it below:

If you noticed some similarities with House, that's because The Good Doctor comes from the creator of the Hugh Laurie drama, David Shore, alongside Hawaii Five-0's Daniel Dae Kim.

On top of Highmore, the cast also includes Richard Schiff (The West Wing), Antonia Thomas (Misfits) and Nicholas Gonzalez (Narcos).

Earlier this year, Freddie wrapped up work on Bates Motel after five seasons, and last year starred in the BBC's drama Close to the Enemy.

The Good Doctor will air on Sky Living in the UK in autumn, and will premiere on ABC tonight (September 25).
