A Sky News show will be broadcast live from a Grimsby community hub this evening.

Centre4, on the Nunsthorpe estate, is set to host Politics Hub presented by Sophy Ridge, who will interview a panel of people including regular Grimsby Live writer Peter Craig, and The Mirror's North East correspondent Jeremy Armstrong.

Sean Gifford, who runs the Snack Shack kiosk at Grimsby Town Football Club is also set to appear alongside a number of local residents. Discussing the most pressing topics ahead of the General Election on July 4, it will include a mix of people, including those who have previously voted Conservative or Labour and are now undecided.

It will also feature an interview with Centre4’s chief executive Tracey Good, who will reflect on success stories as well as the concerns of the local community.

Centre4 communications lead Paul Cottam said: “We’re excited to be hosting the Sky News team and presenter Sophy Ridge for the Politics Hub programme this evening.

“Our recent transformation makes it an ideal venue to film in, as it looks modern and welcoming, and many of our community members are familiar with the centre and our team here.

“The new Grimsby and Cleethorpes constituency is a key election battleground, and it’s a bellweather for the rest of the country in many respects. Because we have so many people from across the borough coming through our doors, we’re quite well informed in the successes, challenges and concerns across the local area.

“The Sky News team have been great and they’re clearly keen to tell the positive news story about the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area, which perhaps hasn’t always been the case with some media coverage in the past.”

The one-hour broadcast will begin at 7pm.
