Sky Sports presenter Jo Wilson diagnosed with cervical cancer
Sky Sports presenter Jo Wilson has announced that she has been diagnosed with cervical cancer.
The broadcaster revealed to OK Magazine that it was discovered she had stage 3 cervical cancer after going for a smear test and is now currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
She talked to the magazine about the moment she found out she had cancer: "I cried while a lovely nurse held my hand. Then I cried to [my husband] Dan, and he was quite shocked because he didn’t really think it would be cancer.
"You’re desperately hoping there’s a chance it might not be."

Wilson said the doctors told her: "It’s very treatable and it’s very curable."
Wilson has decided to go public with her illness to coincide with Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month and hopes to raise awareness of the disease for other women and to encourage people to get a smear examination.
She said: "I don’t want anyone to have to go through what I am right now."
Wilson made her debut on Sky Sports News in 2015 after working for Sky since her graduation in 2011.
She started as a graduate trainee before becoming sub-editor and later co-producer before making the switch to in front of the cameras seven years ago. Wilson has been a mainstay on the sports news channel ever since.
