Slavisa Jokanovic would be great as Chelsea manager, says Pedro

Pedro has welcomed news that Slavisa Jokanovic is in contention to replace Antonio Conte by hailing him as a “great manager”.

Standard Sport revealed last month that the Fulham coach has been talked about among the hierarchy as an option to become the next boss.

Conte, who is in the running to replace Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid, is expected to leave this summer. Maurizio Sarri, Laurent Blanc and Luis Enrique are also in the frame to succeed the Italian.

When asked what he thinks about Jokanovic taking over, Pedro said: “We know there might be some changes. We know he [Jokanovic] is a great manager.”

The winger failed to make Spain’s World Cup squad but has committed to playing for Chelsea. The 30-year-old, who struggled last seasson, has just 12 months left on his deal.

It has led to speculation he could leave, but he told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser: “Most likely I will stay.”
