Sledders Take to Central Park as Nor'easter Blankets New York City

Sledders took to Central Park as New York City was blanketed in snow on Monday, February 1.

The National Weather Service reported late on Monday that 16.3 inches of snow had fallen on the park over the past 24 hours.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted a restriction on non-emergency travel after 6 am in anticipation of the adverse weather conditions.

This footage, shot by New Yorker Marc Fournier, shows children and adults enjoying the snowy slopes.

“It was nice to capture some joyful moments in the beginning of the year,” Fournier told Storyful. Credit: Marc Fournier via Storyful
