'Slow But Steady' Snowfall Coats Downtown Santa Fe

A Winter Weather Advisory was issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) for the Santa Fe metropolitan area as cold temperatures and snowfall moved through New Mexico on Thursday, November 21.

The NWS said the heaviest snow was forecast for Thursday evening, though it was expected to decrease throughout the night.

The weather service said one to three inches of snow could “quickly” collect in the area. For higher elevations, the NWS forecast more than six inches of snowfall.

This video, filmed by Daniel Chacon, shows snow blanketing the ground in Santa Fe Plaza, in the city’s downtown.

Chacon said on Twitter that the snowfall was “slow but steady.”
